About onion

THE HISTORY OF THE ONION

The onion is one of the oldest cultivated vegetables in our history, originating in Central Asia, from where it spread worldwide. Onion cultivation dates back to 3 500 years BC when ancient civilizations soon became dependent on the cultivation of this particular vegetable. Onions were easy to grow in all types of soil and weather conditions and easy to store, dry, and store for the winter.

BENEFITS OF EATING ONIONS

Given that onions are often a staple and taken for granted, we should not ignore the fact that they are an excellent source of fiber, vitamin C, and other minerals that contribute to a healthy diet. The most exciting thing about onions is the tearing that occurs when cutting this tasty vegetable. This releases several chemical substances, including ozone sulfide, which is released when the onion pulp is damaged. These substances help the plant’s natural defenses against potential pests and diseases.

There are several types of onions or bulbs, the most common being red onions, white onions, shallots, and leeks. Our product consists of a mixture of onions of Spanish origin.
3. USE OF ONIONS
Onions vary in size, taste, and color. The best known is the yellow onion, which has a bright golden skin, a greenish-white core, and a strong flavor. The red onion is an attractive, milder alternative to the yellow onion with a shiny purple skin and a red-colored center. Shallots are a subspecies of onion; they are small and delicate in flavor and are typical of French cuisine. Spring onions are plucked before the bulb is fully formed and can be identified by their long green leaves. Like a red onion, it is pretty mild and is often used raw in salads.
